The PPCC chief said that after the installation of a Bharatiya Janata Party led government at the Centre the BJP had become more assertive in Punjab. It was demanding more share in power and the relations between the two alliance partners had become sour.
The state Congress chief said that the Punjab government was facing acute financial crunch and development had taken a back seat. The alleged that this was because of the fiscal mismanagement of the State government.
Bajwa asserted that the congress in Punjab was a united party and there were no dissentions in the state party unit. He visited the residence of Bharatinder Singh Chahal, media advisor to the former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, where he was accorded a warm welcome by Congress workers.
Addressing partymen at Chahal’s residence the PPCC chief called upon his partymen to brace up for the next elections.
