Jalandhar: Canada’s University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and Lovely Professional University (LPU) have entered an academic collaboration. The collaboration between two universities will focus on different areas of common interest.
These areas include organisation of conferences, seminars, faculty and students visits/exchange programs, exploration of common research interests and co-operative projects.
The representatives from Canadian university led by R Philips, Head of International Marketing (Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe), met LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal. The visitors held mutual discussions on common interests for further academic strengthening of both the universities.
Elaborating about the collaboration, Mittal said, “In the first phase of this collaboration, both LPU and UFV will work together on different programmes. Under this, two LPU students can study for one year at UFV by paying normal Indian fee.”
Mittal informed: “In the next phase, this collaboration would work in research programmes of agriculture, animation and computer sciences.”
Feeling excited about this tie-up, Philips said, “Although, we are already working with universities of Mumbai and Delhi, yet I feel that working with LPU in Punjab will certainly enable us to work closely with Indian universities. We indeed anticipate a fast pace journey with LPU.”
However, UFV was a Canadian public university with campuses in Abbotsford, Chilliwack.
