Dhalla assures help to Punjabi brides for NRIs

Patiala : Former Canadian MP Ruby Dhalla has said that “Dreams for You” would strive to work for curbing exploitation of Indian girls by NRI bridegrooms.
She said “Dreams for You” was an organisation which was working for curbing domestic violence, fighting the menace of sham marriages and exploitation of gullible Indian brides by NRI grooms.
Ruby Dhalla, who had come to attend the monthly meeting of the Patiala Welfare Society headed by Satbir Singh Khatra, said she was the brand ambassador of “Dreams for You”, which was committed to making available all help to the girls who were deserted after sham marriages by NRI grooms.
Dhalla said that it was necessary for prospective brides to get copies of passports of the NRI grooms and make proper verification of the credentials of such grooms. The prospective brides could contact “Dreams for You”, which would extend all help in establishing the credentials of the NRI grooms.
Chairman of the Patiala Welfare Society Satbir Singh Khatra enumerated the development projects initiated in Punjab by the government headed by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. He thanked the people of the area for cooperating with the Patiala Welfare Society in different projects of public good.
He also enumerated the social welfare projects initiated by the Patiala Welfare Society in this region. Also present on the occasion was Barjinder Singh Brar, Chairman of the Punjab Health Systems Corporation.
