Punjabi held for ‘killing’ wife

Sacramento : A Punjabi man was arrested for allegedly killing his wife. The body of Anita Sidhu, 39, was found by a family member on Sunday morning inside her Royal Palm Drive home in Fremont. One of the male relatives, who apparently lived at her home, noticed Sidhu’s car parked in the driveway, which was unusual because she normally left for work early.
Sidhu’s husband, Balvir Singh, had left with his passport before her body was found in her bed.
There were several members of the couple’s extended family in the home at the time, but nobody reported seeing the slaying occur. Evidence at the scene linked Singh to his wife’s death. The police are investigating the cause of death.
Singh was spotted on Ethyl Street in Milpitas. He fled after making eye contact with a Fremont detective. He was soon captured and arrested on suspicion of murder by Milpitas police. 42 years old Balvir Singh, is scheduled to be arraigned today at the Fremont Hall of Justice.
