Hisar : A Sikh couple from Chandigarh which had shifted to Sydney a year back and opened an Indian grocery outlet, Desi Hatti, worked so hard that within nine months, the Sydney administration not only felicitated them with “New Business Award 2014 “ but also assured all kind of support in their new venture.
“Since then the Indian population there and local people are pouring in to avail the benefits of Desi Hatti where they get quality stuff at reasonable price,” disclosed Krishma, dental technician, who basically hails from Sonepat but works at Sydney, while talking to this correspondent here on Sunday.
Krishma who is a regular client of Desi Hatti further said,”Paramjit Singh Ghumman, gallantry award winning former officer of Border Security Force, and his wife , former teacher of BSF School, Panchkula ,are running the. Ghumman had fought extremists and killed some of them in J&K and was honoured with a gallantry award in 1994 by the Union Home Minister.
Through dint of hard work, sincerity and honesty, the couple won the award abroad in a short time. “Some English and Punjabi newspapers have also published the success story of the couple in Sydney. Monti Saini and Yuvraj, youths from Kurukshetra and Pilibhit respectively, and a girl Gurpreet from Nabha also work at Desi Hatti in their spare time. Sarabh Kaur, a house wife , from Chandigarh, Bhinder Singh, a truck operator from Moga, and Christina, a house wife in Sydney, have also praised the prompt customer service of the couple and the best quality of their grocery.
