Cong convenes high-level meeting tomorrow

Sangrur : All-India Congress Committee general secretary and Punjab affairs in charge Shakeel Ahmad has convened a high-level meeting of all MPs, ex-MPs, MLAs, ex-MLAs and office-bearers of the Punjab Congress on March 29 at Gaganjeet Singh Barnala’s house in Kakkarwal village near Dhuri.

The party is expected to assign duties for campaign to its leaders at the meeting.

Former CM Surjit Singh Barnala’s grandson and former MLA Gaganjeet Singh Barnala’s son Simar Partap Singh Barnala is contesting the by-election on Congress ticket.

Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa has said Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, MLA from Guruharsahai, and Vijay Inder Singla, former Sangrur MP, had been made election in charge for the Dhuri Assembly by-election.
