KAPURTHALA: Members of the district Congress committee on Wednesday demanded a highlevel probe into the alleged links of Kapurthala district planning committee chairman Sarabjit Singh Makkar and Kapurthala market committee chairman Ranjit Singh Khojewal with a SAD worker, who had been recently arrested by the police in a drug-peddling case.
More than 200 Congress workers gathered in the town to join the protest and burnt the effigy of SAD leaders.
Recently, the Jalandhar Rural police claimed to have arrested a SAD leader and former block Samiti member of Kapurthala Dharwinder Singh alias Mintu, a resident of Khusropur, Kapurthala after recovering 2.35 kilogram heroin.
After which, the photographs of SAD party leaders including Makkar, Khojewal and other party workers standing with Mintu went viral on social network sites.
