BJP leaders clash during internal polls in Faridkot

Bathinda : In the race of Mandal (divisional) elections of the party, two groups of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed at Gela Ram Trust on Monday.
During the scuffle, the BJP leaders not only assaulted each other but also didn’t mind tossing the turbans of one another. The incident came as a severe blow to the image of the saffron party. According to information, the party’s divisional level elections were being conducted on Sunday under the supervision of Sandeep Rinwa and Krishan Singla.
While one group was headed by Principal Kumar Jagdev Singh Brar, another one was being represented by Gagan Sethi. In an already charged atmosphere the supporters of both group started launching verbal attacks at each other. Within minutes, they got into a physical dual and some of the BJP activists even lost their turbans in the brawl.
In the Brar group, Gagandeep Sukhija and Vijay Chhabra were learnt to be most active ones. On the other side, Sukhdev Singh Sharma, Prem Gera, Balwant Singh Jugnu and Mukhtiar Singh Bangar were reported to be the aggressive ones. After the whole ruckus that last for nearly 15 minutes, when the media persons questioned former division (Mandal) president Sukhdev Sharma said there was a personal tiff amid the supporters of both group and with the provocation of Gagan Sethi group it all resulted into violence. The local leadership of party apprised of the matter to the state body.
