CHANDIGARH: Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has accused leader of Opposition Sukhpal Khaira of politicising the plight of cotton farmers in Mansa.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the CM lashed out at Khaira for misleading the people over whitefly attack on cotton in the region. Reacting to Khaira’s allegations of complicity of the chief minister’s office (CMO) and cabinet ministers in the sale and distribution of fake and poor quality pesticides to farmers, Amarinder said it was evident that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader had no connect with the situation on the ground. “He should go to Punjab Agricultural University to take lessons. As leader of Opposition, it is his duty to act responsibly and play the role of a constructive opposition and not indulge in petty politicking,”the CM said.
