State-level job fairs: Students registered last year can also appear for interviews

CHANDIGARH: Punjab technical education minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday said the students who registered in the job fairs last year need not register this time again as they will be eligible for appearing in interviews during the state-level job fairs.

The minister said the already registered students can appear in any nearest job fair or the place of their interest.

Channi took the decision in a meeting with the chancellors of private universities and senior officials of the department. Also, the students who were unable to register due to any reason can register on the spot and appear for the interview, it was also decided. Channi will inaugurate the stat-level job fair at Chandigarh University, Gharuan, on Tuesday.

He said these job fairs would be organised across the state by the government and private institutes such as Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, Inder Kumar Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara; Chittkara University, Rajpura; Rayat Bahra University, Kharar; Guru Kashi University Talwandi Sabo; Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh; Polytechnic Technical College for Girls, Patiala; Government Polytechnic College, Amritsar; Guru Nanak Polytechnic College, Ludhiana; SBS Polytechnic College Ferozepur; CT Polytechnic, Jalandhar and Government Institute of Leather and Footwear Technology, Jalandhar.

Other institutions includes Government Institute of Garment Technology, Amritsar; Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Tech, Ludhiana; Punjab Institute of Textile Technology, Amritsar; Government Industrial Training Institute Patiala; Government Industrial Training Institute Ludhiana; Government Industrial Training Institute Pathankot; Adesh Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faridkot; Swami Vivekanad Group of Institutes, Banur and Government Industrial Training Institute, Patti.

Also, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura; Universal Group of Institutions, Lalru and Adesh Group of Institutions, Gharuan will hold the fair at PTU campus, Mohali.
