CHANDIGARH: Taking a serious view of media reports, Milkfed managing director Alaknanda Dyal has ordered an inquiry into Milkfed’s Ludhiana plant allegedly procuring milk from Rajasthan that caused losses to the state’s cooperative giant in the dairy sector.
The inquiry committee comprises the chief vigilance officer and the heads of finance, procurement and marketing sections of Milkfed, who will submit their detailed report within a month. Ludhiana MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, at a recent press conference, had claimed that the consignments of milk and synthetic milk were procured from the Rajasthan-based firm, Ganesh Sewa Samiti, in 2011-12 that caused heavy financial losses to Milkfed.
A spokesman of Milkfed here said Alaknanda took over as MD in April 2013. The financial details and the office record related to the matter had been sent for comments to an audit wing, the spokesman said.
