NAVJOT SIDHU IN DELHI TO MEET GANDHIS

CHANDIGARH : Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has resigned from the state cabinet on Sunday, reached New Delhi on Friday to meet Rahul Gandhi and his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. He is expected to meet Priyanka on Saturday after she returns from her tour to Uttar Pradesh.

Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has yet to take a call on resignation tendered by the minister after being divested of the powerful local bodies, tourism and cultural affairs departments last month.

Sidhu had not taken charge of his portfolio, power and renewable energy, and made his resignation dated June 10 addressed to the Congress president public on the social media after a month of being incommunicado.
