AMRITSAR: Hitting back at the SAD after its local unit accused former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu of being thankless, chief parliamentary secretary and Sidhu’s wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Saturday said she would like to ask the Akali Dal what it had done for people in the past two and a half years.

Talking to reporters minutes after senior BJP leader LK Advani left the airport, Dr Sidhu said, “The people who are accusing Sidhu first must explain as to what they have done for Punjab. The Akali Dal is indulging in blame game. SAD chief Sukhbir Badal must tell the people of Punjab and also of my constituency, Amritsar (East), as to what he has done for the state.”

Accusing the Akali Dal of discrimination, Dr Sidhu said, “Sukhbir promised ` 100 crore for my constituency, but despite repeated reminders nothing has been done. I have repeatedly written to the ministers in the Badal government, but they failed to react to the issues of people. It is the people from whom the Akali Dal sought votes and it must answer them now.”

The CPS said, “Our CM distributes so much money at sangat darshan. Then why he has no money for my constituency? He must answer the people.”
