Amritsar: Former Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday apologised to the Sikh community and Akal Takht for distortion of Gurbani.

Sidhu said he has always been a humble servant of god, and bows every day before the Akal Takht.

He said that he was a real Sikh and never tried to hurt the Sikh sentiments. “My religion is most sacred to me and my life is mentored by the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib,” he added.

He said that he has never used religion to gratify selfish vested interests or settle personal scores.
