Mansa: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries and senior SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Thursday described the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a party of day dreamers, who have lost their base in Punja. “AAP dreams of power by misleading electorate, which the people will not allow to happen at all,” she mentioned, while holding Sangat Darshan in Mansa villages. She listened to the problems of villagers and directed the concerned officers to immediately redress those grievances. Harsimrat also distributed grant of Rs 80 lakh to the panchayats of eight villages to carry out developmental works.

She said that the leadership of Congress had lost its ground in the state. “Whether Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi, none of them can save the Congress that would soon be lost into oblivion,” she claimed.

Harsimrat added that the result of Dhuri by-poll was a testimony to this fact. She said that the Government of India was dedicated to helping the poor and needy and is charting out new strategies to strengthen this section of society.

She said that the Jan Dhan Yojana has been introduced under which within 10 months 99 percent of bank accounts were opened. She said that the target of the Government of India was to ensure that by 2020 every poor family should have a house. “The NDA government at the Centre is committed to help out every section of the society in a holistic manner,” she said.

Harsimrat said that there was no dearth of grants for ensuring development in the villages. She said that the pension of genuine beneficiaries would not be stopped. The district administration has formed inquiry teams that are visiting villages to weed out non-genuine beneficiaries.
