CHANDIGARH: Congress leader and Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh on Thursday questioned deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal’s claim on his “successful” South Korean visit.
“At best it was joyride for the deputy CM and his overcrowded entourage, who are trying to justify the huge burden put on the state without getting anything,” Rana said in a statement here.
He said that apparently taking cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sorties abroad, Sukhbir had made it a regular feature of his itinerary to visit at least one foreign country every month. “And he did not break the routine of undertaking foreign trips when Gurdaspur faced a terror attack as he preferred to be in Poland at the time,” he said. “Every time Sukhbir visits abroad, we are told that countries like China and Poland are going to make huge investments in Punjab,” he pointed out, adding that now the lie had been extended to South Korea as well.
