MOGA: A day after Punjab government appointed seven more chief parliamentary secretaries (CPSes), taking the total number to 25, Congress accused Badals of delibertately emptying the state government’s treasury through such appointments.

Punjab Cong ress senior vice-president Lal Singh said, “Badals know that they will not be able to form the government in Punjab again, that’s why they are deliberately emptying the exchequers so that nothing is left for the new government to strengthen the state’s economy.’’

Lal, who was here to take stock of the wheat procurement, alleged that the state government was not leaving any opportunity to ruin the state as where they appointed seven CPSs, the government has also pawned lots of prime properties of Punjab to get the cash credit limit of Rs 21,000 crores to pay for wheat procurement.

“I have all the records in which the SAD-BJP government has pawned prime properties including Gandhi Ashram, PWD headquarters, and many other properties,” he said.

The senior Punjab Congress leader said that their party would manage to strengthen the economy of the state under any circumstances.

“After coming into the power our party will give better facilities than the present government which has been surviving on false claims,” he said.

Congress to bring two manifestos including local and state

Lal Singh said that the Congress was coming up with two kinds of manifestos including local and state level this time.

“We have told all our constituency leaders to interact with the public to know the local issues on which basis the local manifesto will be prepared while manifesto for a state would have major issues pertaining to the Punjab state,” he said.

CBI PROBE INTO ` 12,000 CRORE FOOD GRAIN SCAM

Terming a big scam by the SAD government, Lal Singh has demanded CBI inquiry or probe by the high court judge into the massive stocks of food grain of worth ` 12,000 crore, that Punjab procured, which were allegedly found missing from godowns.

He also demanded an investigation into the purchase of gunny bags, alleging that the state gover nment has purchased gunny bag for ` 60 while the actual cost is ` 22 only, resulting into heavy loss of ` 60 crore to the state exchequer.
