Cong to start campaign for farmers, women

Jalandhar : After the much touted ‘Coffee with Captain’ campaign, celebrity election strategist Prashant Kishor is all set to kick-start similar campaigns for farmers, women, educationists, ex-servicemen and other key voter groups after the return of Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh from abroad.

Prashant Kishor has lined up as many as 80 programmes on similar lines like that of ‘Coffee with Captain’ for the voters in the state. Recently, the first phase of ‘Coffee with Captain’ programme, aimed at reaching out to the youth was held in the state.

A three-member corporate media team of Prashant Kishor from Indian People’s Action Committee (IPAC), namely Geetika, Payal and Donil from Delhi, which was here in Jalandhar on Thursday, disclosed that the election campaign would be scaled up with the assistance of local modules in the coming days.

While ‘Coffee with Captain’ was held on college campus, the farmers’ event will be planned in village fields. Though no names for such different campaigns have been finalised yet, it will be named according to the target voter group, the team members shared.

They also maintained that Prashant has planned a special ‘door to door campaign’ under the title of ‘Punjab da Captain’, where they will be working with the local residents of the constituency concerned.
