MALERKOTLA (SANGRUR): While promising district status to Malerkotla, Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh alleged that recent sacrilege incidents which have happened in Punjab were scripted by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.

There is a pattern in these incidents starting from the desecration of Guru Granth Sahab in Bargadi, followed by desecration of Gita in Ludhiana and then Quran in Malerkotla, Amarinder said during his Halke Vich Captain programme here on Wednesday.

He also pointed out attacks on Sikh preacher Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and murderous attack on RSS leader in Jalandhar and said in both cases no culprit has been identified.

"And I am sure every incident will lead us to the Badal's door as he is quite capable of getting such things done", he said, while announcing if Congress forms government every case will be investigated.

The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president again tried to woo cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu.

"If he ever wants to turn to Congress, we'd be more than happy make him part of party", said Captain. He also said that in 10 days PPCC would send names of candidates to party high command and after their scrutiny the names would be finalised.

He announced that the medical college he had promised in Malerkotla during his previous regime would be set up. He said, due representation in government organisations would be given to the members of the Shia-Muslim community. He also announced that there would be a gazetted holiday on Muharram.
