“When DGP Arora stated that 57 gangs were active in state, why CM failed to summon DyCM ”
Jalandhar : Punjab Congress chief spokesperson Sunil Jakhar on Friday blamed Punjab government for patronising gangs in the state, which led to killing of RSS leader Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja.
Jakhar did not name ruling SAD-BJP alliance but said that the state government was responsible for the attack on RSS leader. “We demand President’s Rule in Punjab ahead of the assembly elections, as many gangs were active in the state and violence would take place in the elections”, he said.
Addressing a press conference, ex CLP leader said that if Chief Minister Parkash Badal was so much concerned about the killing of the Brig Gagneja, then he should sack his son and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who was also holding the portfolio of Home Minister.
The senior congress leader also asked CM Badal to explain that when DGP Punjab Suresh Arora has already stated that 57 gangs were active in the state, then he should have summoned both Deputy CM and the DGP Punjab to take action. “The killing of RSS leader is the last nail in the coffin to the Jungle Raj of the SAD-BJP government in the state”, he said.
The ex CLP leader also cornered Punjab BJP leadership for turning a mute spectator to the poor law and order problem in the state. “BJP leaders were out to enjoy power in the state and if the attack on their RSS leader has also failed to open the eyes of their leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then things were actually bad”, he added.
