Congress giving final touches to election manifesto

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress Manifesto Committee met on Wednesday to give the final shape to the party’s manifesto for the forthcoming assembly elections.

The manifesto has been given final touches based the inputs received from committee members and other party leaders, and will now be submitted to the Congress High Command in New Delhi for final approval. The party aims to release its manifesto around mid-November.

According to Manifesto Committee convenor Manpreet Badal, the members deliberated on the draft manifesto at the Congress Bhawan here and provided their suggestions. Certain changes have been made to the draft based these suggestions and inputs, said Badal, adding, “The manifesto is ready and will now be presented to the Congress leadership.”

Badal said all sections of the society had been adequately covered in the draft manifesto. The all-encompassing document is designed to address the concerns of all people across the state and the party is committed to delivering on each of the promises contained in it, said Badal.

The meeting was attended, among others, by AICC general secretaries Ambika Soni and Asha Kumari, AICC Secretary Harish Choudhary, Manifesto Committee chairperson Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Punjab Congress Senior Vice President Sunil Jakhar, MLAs Brahm Mohindra and Sadhu Singh Dharmsot and senior party leaders Gurpartap Singh Mann and Inderjit Singh Zira.
