Chandigarh : The which swept most of the country on Thursday was stopped in Punjab where the ruling Congress party managed to win eight of the 13 parliamentary seats it contested. The SAD won two seats while its electoral ally BJP also bagged two seats. One seat went to AAP.

Chandigarh : As the Congress leads on eight of the 13 seats in Punjab, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday fired a fresh salvo on cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu, saying the latter was unable to run his own department.

Abohar : Former Akali minister Inderjit Singh Zira, who joined the Congress a few years ago and was appointed coordinator for Congress election campaign, on Tuesday said Ferozepur was not going to be a cakewalk for Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Congress candidate and two-time MP Sher Singh Ghubaya would give him a tough fight, he said.
