Akali leader, 18 others booked firing incident

Barnala: Police has registered FIR against 19 persons on Wednesday relating to a fire incident that took place on Tuesday at village Chiniwala in which two persons got injured. Police has booked Akali leader and member of Zila Parishad Pritpal Singh, Jagshir Singh, Balwant Singh, Shamsher Singh, Mander Singh and 14 other persons under Sections 307, 148 and 149 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of Arms Act, said SHO Baljit Singh Dhillon.

KUALA LUMPUR: The minority ethnic Indian community in Malaysia is outraged over the "negative and incorrect" picture conveyed about Hinduism and Sikhism after a leading university of the Southeast Asian country published an educational module depicting Hindus in India as unclean and Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev as having a "poor understanding".
