Jalandhar : Jaskaran Singh alias Jassa, extradited from Australia for his alleged involvement in the attack on Burundi national Yannick Nihangaza two years ago, was today sent to jail.

After his extradition from Australia on September 15, the court had remanded Jassa in two-day police custody to inquire about the whereabouts of the remaining two accused, Rommy Uppal and Rantaj Singh, said a police official.

Sources said that Jassa did not appear to have any information about the two.

They said during interrogation, Jassa had pleaded that he was innocent and that he had no role in the crime.

He had told the police that he had reached the crime site only after the fight had ended.
