Jalandhar : NRIs from across the globe can look forward to getting their problems solved on the spot, as Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would head ‘Sangat Darshan’ for NRIs to solve their cases related to property disputes, matrimonial frauds and other criminal cases.

NRI Sabha Punjab president Jasvir Singh Gill said that the Sangat Darshan scheduled for January 16 would be an open platform for the NRIs to address their grievances in the presence of a battery of senior administrative and police officials.

Gill said that the Punjab government has sought online complaints from NRIs before December 15. “Even the NRI complaints, which were pending till date were also sought by the administration for timely solution,” he said.

NRI Sabha Punjab president maintained that the NRI Sabha has sent all the pending complaints of NRIs from 2009 to 2013 to the administration. “Out of the total 83 complaints sent, as many as 61 complaints were under police jurisdiction while 22 belonged to property disputes”, he said.

“The Punjab government should strictly implement laws meant for the facilitation of NRIs, so that they could feel confident of making investments in their homeland Punjab”, Gill added.

Further raising the issue of time bound solving of court cases of NRIs, the president said that a majority of the cases were sorted out in favour of the NRIs but they involved a lengthy time. “NRIs usually come to Punjab for a shorter time and by not solving their property matters well on time, they remained stuck. The Punjab government should immediately register FIRs against such people involved in duping NRIs in property and agricultural lands worth crores in Punjab,” he demanded.
