SURREY (VANCOUVER): Amritsarborn journalist Harpreet Singh has been named the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Surrey-Newton for the October 2015 federal election.

“I’m excited to be officially confirmed as the Conservative candidate and am looking forward to representing Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s strong, dependable team here in Surrey-Newton,” Harpreet Singh said on Friday. Singh spoke of his community work and what he believes is at stake in the upcoming election for his home of the past decade.

Harpreet Singh said his campaign would focus on tax relief for families, protecting Canadians, and creating quality jobs. The Canadian elections are on October 19.
