NRI booked for abducting and raping fiancée

Kapurthala : An NRI has been reportedly booked for abducting and raping his fiancée on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered against the accused.

Victim in her statement said that her marriage was fixed with the victim on the basis of telephonic conversation with said accused. She also revealed that he promised her that he would solemnise marriage with her as soon as he returns to India from Italy.

She further said that on February12 the accused identided as Joga Singh, son of Gurdev Singh, resident of Fattu Dhinga village in Sultanpur Lodhi subdivision, came back to India and telephoned her and met her near the bus stand of Boot village. She said that on February 13 he telephoned her and asked her to go with her for court marriage, but he took her to Chintapurni in Himachal Pradesh on his motorcycle and kept her in a hotel. She alleged that during night he made illicit relations with her without her consent and thus raped her. On her statement, a case was registered against said accused under Sections 363,366 and 376 of IPC. Police parties are raiding to nab the accused as said SHO, PS City.
