Tota Singh inaugurates new court room of NRI Commission

CHANDIGARH: State NRI Affairs Minister Jathedar Tota Singh inaugurated the new court room of the NRI Commission at Block-A, Punjab Civil Secretariat-2, Sector 9, Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Jathedar Tota Singh said that the state government is committed to its resolve to solve all the issue pertaining to Non Resident Indians (NRIs) in stipulated time-frame. He said that the Punjab is the only state in India where NRI Commission has been constituted to solve the problems of Punjabi Diaspora. He said that the NRI commission till date has received 1,324 complaints out of which 1,125 have already been disposed off.
Divulging the procedure of processing of complaint he said that after the receipt of a complaint it is sent to the Police or Revenue department for inquiry and if need be the record is summoned before the commission from these department. He said that after the inquiry is completed the commission takes action without any delay.
Jathedar Tota Singh said that the state government constituted Punjab NRI Commission on November 29, 2011, under Punjab State Commission for NRIs ACT-2011.
