TORONTO: A Punjabi-origin Canadian man is facing charges of aggravated assault on his wife in Canada, the media reported. Baldev Singh Kalsi, 66, president of the Brookside gurdwara in Surrey city in western Canada’s British Columbia province, was arrested after his wife was found in severe medical distress at their home on Sunday, the Global News reported on Monday.

Sacramento (California) : The American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) today hailed Congressman Mike Honda for proposing an anti-bullying law to check harassment of minorities, especially Sikh students in US schools. The AGPC said such a law would protect students and check bullying.
