New York : An elderly Sikh-American man was brutally assaulted and left with severe facial injuries by an assailant who yelled racial slurs like "terrorist" and "Bin Laden", in an apparent hate crime just before the US commemorates the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

London: A charity in memory of an Indian-origin hotelier, who was murdered during a visit to India earlier this year, will be launched by his family in the UK to support vulnerable children and elderly people across the world. The Ranjit Singh Power Foundation Trust will be launched tomorrow on what would have been Power’s 55th birthday. It will kick-start with a 25,000-pound donation from Power’s partner Angela Bir, who said the trust would help her fulfil both their dreams, Birmingham Mail reported.
