Press Release - 03/01/2009

After the success of the NRI meeting titled 'Justice for NRIs - The Real NRI Conference' on 26 December 2008 at Chandigarh; I have kept my promise of taking the campaign overseas.

From 2 to 12 January I will be participating in numerous NRI meets in various cities along the West Coast of North America.

This NRI sampark  programme will cover Los Angeles, San Diego, Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, Seattle, Surrey and Vancouver.

The massive response to my alternative NRI samellan has reinforced my belief that we need to act now to address NRI concerns, to make Punjabi NRIs feel wanted in Punjab and to give NRIs parity with locals in Punjab.

Hundreds of NRIs have contacted me by phone, SMS and email with offers of support, as well as heart wrenching stories of their experiences in Punjab.

We simply cannot wait for the next government in Punjab to address NRI concerns.

CM Punjab needs to act now in a sincere manner that illustrates to NRIs that he is genuinely interested in protecting NRI interests.
