Akali worker among 30 booked

TARNTARAN: The change of power in the state has finally brought justice to Amrik Singh as the police have taken action against a SAD worker, his son among 30 unidentified persons for allegedly looting 100-tonne coal worth around ₹12 lakh from his brick kiln.

In his complaint lodged in November 2016, Amrik Singh of Jhugian Noor Muhammad village had stated that Harpal Singh, his son Navjot Singh, Harpreet Singh of village Machhike among 30 unidentified persons, equipped with firearms, came with a JCB at his kiln and forcefully looted 100tonne coal.

SAD worker Harpal Singh, his son and other aides involved in the offence have been booked, said police sources on Monday. “I complained to Valtoha police , but police in political pressure did not register case against the accused.”
