Patiala court concludes rape trial in 4 days

PATIALA: The court of additional sessions judge Anshul Beri concluded a rape case after hearings of four days. The decision saw the accused being set free as about 15 witnesses’ statement were recorded in four days but it is a record completion of a case relating to rape.
It should be noted that before this, district sessions judge Raj Shekhar Atri had announced a sentence in a rape case after hearing a case for five days.
According to the police, a case was registered against Jagvinder Singh by the Nabha Sadar police on August 17 last year. The case registered was under sections 363, 366-A and 376.
In another case, a sentence of seven years’ rigorous punishment was awarded by a local court her to a man for raping a minor after completing the trial is about seven hearings.
The case saw Harmesh Singh from Rajgarh village was booked in May last year for rape. The charges were made this year in January. The process of recording evidence began on January 14 and lasted for two days, till January 16.
Additional sessions judge Jatinder Kaur stated that the court after completing the hearings believes that the accused raped a minor girl and threatened to kill her too for this the accused is given seven years RI.
