Thane, Maharashtra : A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by two persons, including a 70-year-old man, at Kalyan, police said.

Besides the two alleged rapists, two women were also booked in this case as they threatened the victim of dire consequences if she told anybody about the incident, police said today.

In the complaint filed with the police yesterday, the girl alleged that on December 28 last year, she was repeatedly raped by one Jaswant Bhai (70) and Nilesh More (18) at Rupa Karya's house, where she worked as a maid servant, police said.

Karya and another woman named Preeti (35) threatened the girl of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone, police said.

Police have booked the four accused under sections 376 (2)(G), 506, rw 34 of the IPC, sections 4 and 12 of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences act of 2012 and also Juvenile Justice Act, section 23 and 26, police said.

No arrests have been made in this connection so far and further investigation is on, police said.

Bangalore
A 25 year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his four-year-old niece in their house here, police said.

Ramanji, working as a loader for city corporation Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), was arrested on a complaint by his sister, who is the victim's mother, they said.

The man, who lives with his sister, allegedly raped the girl last evening while her mother was away shopping.

Jalandhar, Punjab
A youth allegedly raped his girlfriend after taking her out on the pretext of seeing a movie and forcing her to drink alcohol in a village near Jalandhar Cantonment area, police said.

The class XII student yesterday lodged a complaint against Harpreet Singh alias Happy that he and his two friends, on the pretext of showing her a movie, had taken her to a village near Cant area and raped her in a house on January 20.

According to the complaint, when the victim resisted, she was beaten up and made to drink alcohol. Happy and his two friends raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, the victim had stated in her complaint, police inspector Rajendra Sharma said.

They then left her in front of her house in semi-conscious state.

The case has been registered after a week of the incident, as the girl was reluctant to disclose what had happened with her, and only on repeated questioning by her parents, she told them about it yesterday, Sharma said.

Singh has been arrested, and the girl has been sent to hospital for medical examination, the inspector said.

The names of the two friends of Singh have not been added to the FIR at the moment, Sharma said.

Investigation was on and only after it was proved that they too were involved in the rape, that an FIR would be lodged against them, he said.

Uttarakhand
A tribal girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in Laldhang range of Lansdowne forest division in Uttarakhand's Pauri district, a senior administration official said.

The teenaged girl, who belongs to the forest dwelling Gujjar tribe and lives near Sigaddisrote close to Kotdwar, was abducted at gunpoint by a group of miscreants on January 2 and subsequently raped by one of them, SDM Anil Garbyal told reporters.

The victim was recovered from Udhamsingh Nagar district a week later on January 8 and on the basis of a complaint lodged later by her mother, four of the accused were arrested yesterday from Syatpari of the forest range following a raid on a Gujjar settlement, he said.

The four arrested, identified as Shamsher, Vazir, Safadil and Zahur have been sent to Pauri jail while an equal number of the accused are still at large, he said.

The medical examination of the girl confirmed rape and one of the accused named Shamsher has confessed to having sexually assaulted the girl, Garbyal said.

Faridabad
A man was allegedly beaten up with an iron rod when he tried to stop a youth from harassing his daughter, police said.

Sundar, who lives in Jharsentli, lodged a complaint that one of his neighbours, Lekhraj, used to tease his 16-year old daughter, police said.

When Sundar expressed opposition to this, Lekhraj beat him with an iron rod, injuring his severly, and threatened to kill him, according to the complaint.

Police has registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.

Mahendergarh, Haryana
A doctor was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman at the primary health centre in the Dhanonda village here.

Dr Aman Deep was arrested for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old woman on January 19.

Police, which registered a case of sexual harassment, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation on the victim's complaint, yesterday produced the accused before the duty magistrate at Mahendergarh, who granted him bail.

Police said today that when the woman, who was pregnant, came with her mother-in-law to the PHC for check up, she was taken inside a room and made to lie on a table by the doctor, who allegedly bolted the room from inside and then made a strong bid to outrage her modesty.

However, the woman some how got out of his clutches and then filed a complaint

The accused doctor remained on the run for several days, and was eventually arrested by police yesterday.
