BATHINDA: In another horrific incident and subsequent callous response of the government machinery, a six-year-old girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted, was found lying in the bushes near the Government Railway Police post at Rama Mandi railway station here.
The girl was found in a bleeding state lying in the bushes under mysterious circumstances by the activists of an NGO.
The incident reportedly occurred in the afternoon. As soon as the activists were informed about the matter, they rushed to the spot and found the girl in the bushes.
The girl belonging to a migrant family was then rushed to the Civil Hospital, Rama, from where she was rushed to another hospital after she was allegedly denied the first aid and preliminary treatment for want of a gynaecologist.
The victim was later rushed to a hospital at Talbandi Sabo where again the child could not find necessary medical aid. She was eventually shifted to a hospital in Bathinda.
Even while the activists of the NGO ran from pillar to post to provide necessary treatment to the girl, the health officers feigned ignorance about the matter.
Meanwhile, the angry residents staged a protest at Rama Mandi railway station and blocked a Hisar-bound train demanding immediate action in the case.
The GRP later registered a case against some unidentified persons and said the probe was on.
