Five sentenced to 10 yrs in jail in gang rape case

ROPAR: Ropar Sessions Judge Gurvinder Singh Gill has sentenced five accused of a case relating to gang rape of a minor girl to ten years’ imprisonment each.
According to public prosecutor LR Kaushal five youth Jagbir Singh,Inderpreet Singh and Gurmukh Singh of village Kishanpura,Manpreet Singh of village Salempur and Balwinder Singh of village Chatauli raped a 15 year old girl at village Kishanpura on May 9,2012 and a case under section 376(2)(g),120-B,363,366,342 of IPC was registered at Singh-Bhagwantpura Police station on May 11,2012 .Lateron all the accused were arrested by the Police.
On the conclusion of the trial of the case today,the Ropar Sessions Judge Gurvinder Singh Gill sentenced each of the five accused to ten years’ imprisonment under section 376(2)(g) of IPC and also imposed fine of Rs. 25000 on each accused.The court also ordered that in default of payment of fine the accused would have to further undergo imprisonment of two years.
