Lt Gen Buttar appointed PPSC chairman

CHANDIGARH: Punjab government has appointed Lt Gen Manjinder Singh Buttar (retd) as chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). Lt Gen Buttar succeeds Lt Gen RS Sujlana (retd), who completed his term recently.

Lt Gen Buttar, who is expected to take up his new assignment shortly, will have a tenure of only about nine months because chairman and members of PPSC hold office for a fixed term of six years or until the age of 62 years. Lt Gen Buttar would attain the age of 62 years in about nine months.
