Ludhiana : A local court today extended the police remand of Punjabi singer Nachattar Gill for two days. The city police had sought a five-day remand to complete the investigation.

Gill and three more persons were arrested on the complaint of a city- based model who alleged that the singer had raped her in a hotel at Chandigarh and threatened to make her pictures public.

The police has so far not found the videos and pictures of the victim.

Gurbir Singh, Station House Officer, PAU, said: “ We are investigating the matter. The victim told us that she was never shown the videos and photographs by the singer. We are interrogating the accused to recover the pictures.”

Gill was arrested on December 24 and sent to a two-day remand. Charanjit Singh alias Channi and Jagdeep Singh Sohi were nabbed on December 25. One of the accused has absconded.

Those responsible for the heinous crime be tried in a fast-track court and awarded exemplary punishment. — Manish Tewari, union Minister
