Congmen protest 'unequal' distribution of blue cards

Gurdaspur : Hundreds of Congress workers, led by PPCC member Raman Bahl, protested the alleged unequal distribution of blue cards in the district.
Bahl led the protestors through the streets of the town to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Later, a delegation of Congress workers submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Dr Abhinav Trikha.
Bahl blamed local SAD legislator GS Babbbehali for distributing blue cards to people who weren’t eligible. “Babbehali is trying to expand his vote bank. I demand an inquiry into the matter,” said Bahl.
Bahl also submitted a list of people eligible for blue cards. He demanded a fresh survey of the area so that blue cards of illegal beneficiaries could be cancelled.
An official admitted that there were irregularities in the process of issuing blue cards. He said the DC had twice written to the state government about the matter.
