Sangrur : Chairman of the General Gurnam Singh Educational Trust Capt Amarinder Singh today formed a four-member committee to resolve the crisis that has hit a school run by the trust here. Employees of General Gurnam Singh Public School are on strike since January 7. The panel formed by Amarinder Singh includes three trustees of the trust.

The members of the committee are: Trust secretary Col Manjit Singh Sibia, Dr KG Singla, Dr Ravinder Kaur Klair (all trustees) and school Principal Jaswinder Singh Riar.

The committee was formed at a meeting of the trust held at Moti Bagh, Patiala. Barring the Sangrur Deputy Commissioner, all members of the trust, including former Punjab Chief Secretary Jai Singh Gill, Professor Surjit Singh Gandhi, Narinder Singh Mann, Karanvir Singh Sibia, Bharat Inder Singh Sidhu and Gurjeet Singh Jawandha, took part in the meeting.

Jaswinder Singh Riar said the chairman had asked the committee to work out a plan to defuse the problem at the earliest. He said the committee would probably submit its report to the chairman before January 19.

In the meantime, the school management would continue the process of recruiting drivers and conductors on ad hoc basis to ply school buses on January 19 (if the problem is not defused before January 19).
