Amritsar rally to be a referendum

Amritsar: Senior Congress leader and coordinator for the party’s Amritsar rally, Rana Gurjeet said that the rally will be a referendum as much against the BJP as the Akalis as both are equally responsible for all the ills Punjab is mired in today. “Rather in certain cases the BJP is more responsible than the Akalis as their ministers are directly in charge of some important ministries where, had they wished, they could have done something good for people instead of prostrating before the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in meek submission”, he remarked while reviewing the arrangements for the Amritsar rally scheduled for January 24.
“BJP is trying to wriggle out of the situation, but let me tell them that they are more responsible for the current mess in Punjab than the Akalis as it is the BJP which is heading the ministries like the health, industries and local bodies which have failed the people of Punjab”, he said
He said, the main problem in Punjab was not of opium or heroin consumption, but the synthetic drugs which are manufactured locally.
