SANGRUR: The district unit of the Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) held a protest here on Sunday against the state government’s failure to continue the benefits of several schemes in the state. The protesters were led by PYC’s general secretary Poonam Kangra, who slammed the SADBJP government for adopting an ‘anti-poor’ stand and failing to provide to the people benefits of the Shagun and Atta Dal schemes. She alleged that people were suffering a lot and the government was not taking their demands seriously. The ruling parties will pay for their failure to protect the interests of poor people in the coming civic body polls, she added.
