PCMS doctors to hold protests from April 15

Jalandhar : The Punjab PCMS Specialist Doctors Association has, during a meeting here today, decided to intensify their agitation against the alleged dilly-dallying tactics of the state government towards their demands.
The association members would hold “black-badge protest” across the state in support of their demands on April 15. They said in case their demands were not met by then, they would hold protest rallies at district hospitals on April 22, 25 and 28 and also strike work from 11 am to 1 pm on these dates.
The association said in case the government still refused to relent, specialist services shall be suspended in the state from May 1. Among their demands is provision for higher education allowance.
They said even though specialist cadre had come into being through a notification passed on April 21, 1989, the government so far hadn’t implemented it.
