FARIDKOT: Congress workers registered their protest on the issue of broken roads by planting paddy saplings on waterlogged roads in the town on Sunday.
Members of the Punjab Youth Congress planting paddy seedlings to highlight the bad condition of roads in Faridkot on Sunday.
“The SAD-BJP government is misleading the public by false claims that the government has carried all-round development in the state while it has failed to provide them even basic facilities. Most of the roads in the town are badly broken and the people are suffering a lot due to pot-holed roads,” said the protesters.
The protesters chose the badly broken road near the district courts here to plant saplings of paddy to express their protest.
The protesters were led by the former Youth Congress leader from the district Dhanjeet Virk. It is pertinent to mention that most of the roads in the district are in a bad shape and Faridkot town requires about `6 crore to carpet roads in the town.
