Sangrur : The police today detained 15 Youth Congress workers, when they tried to lock the main gate of the post office. They were protesting the BJP-led Central government’s decision to discontinue the stamps of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. They were let off by the police after half an hour.
Led by Poonam Kangra, secretary of state Youth Congress, Congress workers raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government.
The police said the protesters were taken in custody as a preventive measure.
