Cong protests against Abohar murder

BATHINDA: Workers belonging to the local Congress unit held a protest march in Bathinda on Monday and raised slogans against the state government for, what they claimed, was it failure to maintain law and order in the state.

Senior party leader Chiranjee lal Garg led the protests. “Acts like last week’s murder of a Abohar resident at the farm house of a Akali leader and the state government’s alleged role in threatening protesters after a women’s road accident cannot be tolerated,” he claimed, adding that the state government had repeatedly failing in its basic duty. Local leaders also appealed to the local residents to attend the Cong’ rally in the city on Tuesday.
