The members alleged that the rally was highly troublesome for the general public as even an ambulance was stuck in the rally. They said even the gates of the Rajendra hospital were closed and many schools were closed forcing children and teachers to add numbers in gathering.
The members claimed that government officials and machinery was used for the convenience of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) government due to which the work at government offices in Patiala was badly affected.
State general secretary of youth congress Bunny Khora said, “The staff of municipality was busy pasting posters illegally in public places, even though it was a clear violation of the Punjab and Haryana high court directions.”
The protesters raised the antigovernment slogans and called the rally ‘Mandbhawni’ (poor intentioned) and burnt the effigy of the SAD leaders.
