Patiala : The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Hisar has summoned SAD MLA from Patran, her husband, the then DSP, SHO, a sub-inspector and two others in a case of alleged assault and wrongful restraint filed by an SAD member. They have been asked to appear in the court on December 21. The complainant has alleged that his son was kept in illegal detention by the police at the behest of the SAD leader and “thrown near Hisar” after four months.
Those issued the summons are Patran MLA Vaninder Kaur Loomba, her husband Karan Singh, DSP Harjinder Gill, Patran SHO Ajaypal Singh, Sub-Inspector Gurcharan Singh, Sukhjit Singh and Jagar Singh.
According to complainant Gurtej Singh, his father Bhupender Singh was an SAD ticket aspirant, but it was granted to Vaninder.
“After my father filed a petition, he was threatened to be implicated in a false case. In August 2013, SHO Patran Ajay Pal and Sub-Inspector Gurcharan Singh and some policemen barged into my house and hit me and my sister who tried to intervene as my father was not home,” Gurtej alleged.
“My son was beaten up illegally by the police from August 6, 2013, to August 19, 2013, and I filed an application to the Patiala IG. Later, I approached the high court and during a raid by the warrant officer, the police whisked my away son,” Bhupender said. “On December 16, 2103, the accused threw him at Barwala in Hisar,” he said.
Vaninder Kaur Loomba and her husband Karan Singh denied the allegations as “totally baseless and false”. “We have not received the summons so far. We will surely come out clean,” they said.
