Most pleas for relief in Sangrur ‘invalid’
Out of the 32 cases discussed at a meeting by the committee about a week ago here, 25 cases were disapproved. Either the deceased persons in these cases were not farmers or farm labourers or they were not under debt or they did not commit suicide, said sources.
They said among these 25 deceased persons were an electrician, RO repair mechanic, a mason, carpenter, cattle trader, vegetable seller, welder, van driver, security guard etc. Besides, a person died of electrocution, two of heart attack, one of prolonged illness, two persons died due to domestic quarrel etc.
In other cases, there was “no proof” of loan. Cases of six farmers and a farm labourer were approved.
