Akali councillor held with opium, party expels him

Bathinda: Dialpura Police in Bathinda district have booked an Akali councillor of Bhadaur town for possessing 450 grams of opium. After completing the legal formalities on late Sunday evening the police on Monday produced him in the court.
Divulging details, Dialpura SHO Iqbal Hussain informed media that the SAD councillor identified as Hans Raj was representing ward number 5 and he had come to village Jalal in Bathinda to supply the contraband, when the police intercepted him. On the other hand, learning about the development, the SAD expelled Hans Raj with immediate effect.
